DMCI Welcomes Five Grade Nine Classes
October 28, 2025

This year, DMCI has expanded to five Grade 9 classes—up from the usual one. The transition has gone smoothly for both the new students and the school community. Students are enjoying an easier introduction to high school and the credit system, while the school is thriving with new staff and a busier, more energetic environment.
“I think the staff were really nice and helpful, and made me feel really comfortable here.” — Grade 9 Student
Along with the new students, experienced Grade 9 teachers have also joined DMCI. They’ve been impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and by how mature and independent the students are.
“Yes, it is very different, as the students are getting more mature and independent.” — Mr. Penner
“It’s been fantastic! The students are more mature and independent—and even more helpful and friendly.” — Ms. Boughton
You might be wondering—how are the Grade 9 students adapting? After speaking with several of them, it’s clear they’ve settled in well. Some mentioned that it felt a little strange at first, but they quickly got comfortable with their new surroundings.
“No, not really—I felt very comfortable with my transition.” — Grade 9 Student
“Good! It felt weird at the beginning, but I’m getting used to it.” — Grade 9 Student
DMCI staff and administration are proud to welcome all of the new Grade 9 students. The Grades 10–12 students are serving as excellent role models, and the newcomers are already getting involved in the many clubs, activities, sports, and opportunities DMCI has to offer. The entire school community is looking forward to an amazing 2025–2026 school year!
