Extracurricular Spotlight

At DMCI, student life extends far beyond the classroom. With a wide range of activities and extracurricular programs, there are many opportunities for students to get involved, explore their interests, and connect with others. Whether you’re looking for a creative outlet, a place to relax and recharge, or a chance to compete and collaborate, DMCI offers something for everyone. From the calming, artistic environment of DMCI INK and Anime Club to the high-energy competition of the E-Sports team, these clubs play an important role in building a vibrant, supportive school community.

DMCI INK & Anime Club

During lunch hour in the art room, Ms. Yudai hosts a club called DMCI INK. In this club, individuals gather together to express their artistic abilities through ink. The art room provides an environment where students get to release stress. Additionally, during exam week, Ms. Yudai presents a plethora of Bob Ross videos to lower blood pressure to serve as a place for relaxation. This is good for students that are experiencing extreme stress due to exams. Ms. Yudai likes to call this a mental health activity. During the Bob Ross videos, imitation candles are scattered throughout the dimly lit room to allow students to feel a sense of warmth.

Not only is this room for art, but there's also an anime club that meets during Thursdays at lunch. During this time of week during lunch, students are to sit back and relax as they’re watching anime. Ultimately, Ms. Yudai provides clubs that will ensure that students feel relieved, comfortable, and calm.

Ms. Yudai would like to welcome more students to her Anime and DMCI INK clubs. Students should consider joining anime club and DMCI INK club for the joy of art and to take a little weight off their shoulders during stressful times.

E-Sports

Out of the many clubs DMCI has to offer, our E-Sports team is one of our most exciting.

We surveyed the DMCI E-sports team on their club activities. The main focus of this club is to play various video games as a group, sometimes even competing with other schools! Some games they play are League of Legends, Super Smash Bros, Overwatch, Valorant, and more. For games like Valorant, they occasionally stream on Twitch so that anyone can watch. Through teamwork they learn how to overcome obstacles, communicate with teammates, and have fun! One member said they would recommend this club because "I feel welcomed and I get to do something I love, gaming!”

Just recently, DMCI won the Brawlhalla Provincials Championship title, hosted by the Steinbach Regional Secondary School and MSEA. Congratulations to the E-Sports team for a phenomenal game!

If you’re interested in video games and want to experience playing competitively - Join the E-Sports team!
