The DMCI Junior Varsity Boys Volleyball team has captured the WSD Championship trophy on Tuesday, November 2nd.  They had a perfect record of 8 wins 0 losses going into the play-offs.  They defeated Kelvin with scores 25-14, 25-17 in the semi-finals and went on to win an exciting final match against Tec Voc with scores 25-20 and 25-15.  This is the 9th consecutive championship for the DMCI Maroons.

One of the keys to DMCI’s success is the time and effort put in during practices and tournaments throughout the season.  Another major factor is the quality of programming at the junior high level.  Most of our players come from Sargent Park and General Wolfe where these athletes have been trained by committed coaches like Lenin Mangaron.

Oliver Maula, the setter, Marco Aviles, a power hitter, and Nathaniel Alnas, also a power hitter, have been both outstanding on the court and have maintained great academic standing as well.

The Maroons represented the Winnipeg School Division at the Provincial Championships held in Winnipeg on Nov. 20th-22nd. They are currently ranked 9th overall in the province.
