School History:

The planning of the new school was approved and communicated to Winnipeg School Division by the Minister of Education on June 15,1990. The school is named after Prairie Rose Dairy that once occupied the property. Prairie Rose Elementary School opened its doors to students on September 1, 1993. The official opening of the school took place on Thursday, October 7, 1993 at 2:30 p.m. The Cornerstone Ceremony took place on June 2, 1994.

Current:

Prairie Rose currently has a population of 275 students from Nursery to Grade 6. The school model emphasizes integration of all students at every level. Specialized programs include Adapted Education and an Inclusive Support Model for all students.
