Earth Week - Spirit Week (April)

Tec-Voc's Fair Trade & Sustainability Committee and the Student Activities Committee hosted our "Earth Week" Spirit Week celebration.
Throughout the week our students participated in our Battle of the Grades Recycling Challenge. Four large bins were created to showcase how much each grade recycled. Congratulations to the Grade 12s for recycling the most during the week.
On Tuesday, April 19th our new New Waste Station was unveiled in the cafeteria. This collaborative project between the Fair Trade & Sustainability Committee, Welding, Carpentry and Graphic Design will allow our students the opportunity to not only recycle but compost as well. The mobile unit will be able to move around to different locations in the school to support sustainable practices.
On Wednesday, April 20th we hosted a Love the Earth Fair with information booths from Green Action Centre, Compost Winnipeg, and MCIC.
On Thursday, April 21st students participated in our Recycled Art Competition. Students used recycled items collected throughout the week for our Battle of the Grades Recycling Challenge and created pieces of art.
