Three Sisters Stew Lunch & Community Walk

Today, Tec-Voc’s Culinary Arts Department prepared a thoughtful meal featuring Three Sisters Stew, bannock, and rice pudding for students and staff. The stew highlights the Three Sisters crops—corn, beans, and squash—which Indigenous peoples traditionally cultivated together. These crops create a symbiotic relationship, where each plant benefits the others, fostering healthy soil and sustainable growth.
At the end of the day, Tec-Voc students and staff took a walk around our community with our Call-to-Action signs in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (which will take place on Monday, September 30).
