Futures Forward Bursary - Info Sessions

Are you a current or former youth-in-care with Child and Family Services?  If you answered YES, Futures Forward is accepting applications to waive your post-secondary tuition costs. 

This bursary will cover tuition of a certificate, diploma or undergraduate program at ten colleges and universities in Manitoba.  Also, Tuition Waiver students who are no longer in care are eligible to apply for Living Supports to cover books, supplies, transportation, rent, etc.

You must apply into the post-secondary institution first, participating schools are U of M, U of W, Booth College, Red River College, MITT, University of Saint-Boniface, Brandon University and University College of the North.  There are a limited number of waivers that are awarded each year, so if you plan on attending any of these schools this year, do not wait until the last minute to apply or you may miss your chance! You do not need to have your acceptance letter to apply for the bursary. I was told that U of M fills up fast and first, so consider an alternative institution.

As long as you maintain full-time status and a GPA of no less than 2.0, you should re-apply for each year you are in post-secondary, and there is a very high success rate of receiving this bursary every year you are in school.  There is also an Advancing Futures Bursary for these same students that are in full or part-time studies for an amount of $10,000!  You can apply for the $10,000 bursary each year as long as you meet the eligibility criteria and this money can be used for whatever you want!

If you cannot attend that session, there will be additional information sessions on the following dates:

• December 14, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (Virtual)
• January 18, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm (In person at Canadian Mennonite University - 2299 Grant Ave.)
• February 22, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm (Virtual)
