MALTI - MANITOBA ADULT LANGUAGE TRAINING INITIATIVE (CLB 5-8)

The MALTI Program is delivered at the WAEC 310 Vaughan Street site. MALTI is a partnership between the Winnipeg School Division and the Province of Manitoba. It supports adult learners who have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels 5–8. The program helps students improve their English and prepare for employment or post‑secondary education. MALTI offers in‑class English lessons to help students build skills and confidence for work or further studies. The program also provides career support, such as help with résumés, cover letters, practice interviews, and short training courses. Through MALTI, students can access academic upgrading and support services to earn a mature student high school diploma and other employment-related certifications, helping them overcome barriers to employment.

Students applying for the MALTI program must first complete an English assessment at the Winnipeg English Language Assessment and Referral Centre (WELARC). Contact WELARC at 204-943-5387 to book an assessment appointment. They will test your English and tell you your CLB level.
