Physics 30S
This course will appeal to students who enjoy applying problem-solving to real world situations. For this course students will need a strong background in mathematical equation solving and trigonometry.
Topics studied in-depth include measurement and linear motion. Wave theory will be introduced through the study of light and sound. The field concept is explored in electric, magnetic and gravity.
Physics 40S
This course is designed to prepare students for further study in physics at the university or college level.
Students complete their study of mechanics from physics 30S with the following topics: dynamics of circular motion, projectile motion, momentum and energy. This is followed by a detailed analysis of electricity and magnetism and an introduction to modern physics, through topics applicable to medical physics.
