Asia Pacific Scholars Tour Tastes, Traditions and Taboos

Grade 9 Asia Pacific Scholars researched and presented cultural traditions, taboos and tasty dishes from over 20 different Asian nations, as part of their final project recently.  Kelvin's Asia Pacific Studies course has, for over the past 25 years, introduced hundreds of students to Asian cultures, languages, geography and politics.  This year's group of Beginner scholars will also take in the upcoming United Nations style debate/role play/examination, in which Intermediate Asia Pac scholars act of representatives from over 15 nations while their Senior counterparts take on the role of non-governmental organizations. This year's conference will see discussion on resolutions including the Climate Crisis, relations with current American administration, pandemics and micro-loans, among other topics.  For more information, contact rsokalski@wsd1.org
