Grade 9 Walkathon

On the afternoon of October 6th, Kelvin’s Grade 9 students with their teachers and Mentors will participate in Kelvin High School’s Annual Walk-a-Thon to raise money for CancerCare Manitoba. This year, we are doing a four-kilometer community walk, which will begin and end in Kelvin’s athletic field. Once the walk is complete, the students will celebrate their achievement with snacks and activities planned by the Grade 12 Mentors. The Walk-a-Thon event is a great chance for our Grade 9s to bond as a group and discover or re-discover the value of community service.

The grade 9s have been given Cancercare Manitoba pledge forms. We will be collecting forms and money until the end of October, when we will present a cheque to CancerCare Manitoba and listen to a guest speaker talk about their experience. Though we prefer donations in the form of cash or cheque, this year we are offering an online option (see online donations for details).

Kelvin’s Grade 9s are a force, and we are excited to see how much they will raise to support this local organisation!
