History

December 9, 2025

Chris Young

I am a graduate from Kelvin’s International Baccalaureate Program. I hold an Honours History degree and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Winnipeg, as well as a Master’s in History from the University of Concordia. During my summers in university, I worked as a guide at Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site, Vimy Ridge National Historic Site (France) and Winnipeg’s Exchange District.

Outside of the formal classroom, my life has been enriched by working with bright industrious students in the Kelvin History Club, a group that helps commemorate the history of our school and plays an active role in our school’s Remembrance Day ceremony. In 2020, I was honored to receive the Governor General’s Award for teaching Canadian history.

I have a love for travel and I have lived in Montreal, Paris, London, Tokyo as well as backpacked in Africa, South America, Asia and most of Europe. For “fun”, I like to run marathons.
