Ronann Mariano

My name is Ronann Mariano. I was born and raised in Winnipeg and grew up in the West End area of the city. I graduated from the University of Manitoba with Bachelor of Science (general) degree in 2011. I then obtained my Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Winnipeg in the Senior Years stream. I graduated from the program in 2013 with a teachable major in mathematics and minor in biology. I started teaching at Kelvin later that year, teaching a variety of different math and computer technology courses. I started teaching in the IB program in 2015, teaching the Computer Science HL course.
Teaching computer science reflects my life-long passion for technology. I graduated from Tec Voc High School with a diploma in Information Technology Studies in 2008. I’ve also taken a variety of computer programming courses throughout the years from University of Manitoba and Red River College. Technology is a large part of my life and I enjoy the continuous learning that is involved.
When I am not using technology, I enjoy sports. I’ve been involved in the basketball and volleyball programs as a coach since 2012. I like spending my time outdoors fishing. I have one dog, a Golden Retriever named Oliver.
