School Registration Information

Winnipeg School Division will be accepting conditional student applications for the 2024/2025 school year. This will only apply to resident students new to WSD or transferring to another school within division.  

Please fill out the Student Application for Registration form, print and sign and then email them directly to the school.

All applications for resident students will only be accepted conditionally until all documentation confirming the information below has been received.

If you are unable to print or scan the forms, please contact the school via email at virtualschool@wsd1.org or by phone at 204-775-5440. Schools are checking emails and voice messages on a daily basis.  

Students new to WSD or transferring within WSD:

  • Student's legal full name
  • Date of birth
  • Sex (as indicated on birth certificate or equivalent documentation)
  • Citizenship (Immigration documentation will be required)
  • Current school attended
  • Grade
  • Current address
  • Primary phone number
  • Email address
  • Name of legal guardian and relationship to student
  • Does student live with guardian(s) as identified (custody orders are required)

Non-Resident Students:

Please contact the school directly as Schools of Choice guidelines apply as per the Winnipeg School Division Policy JEC - School Admissions/Schools of Choice. Acceptance is based on numerous factors including program and grade request, space availability and class size. 

Non-resident students must fill out a Non-Resident Student Application Form AND Student Application for Registration Form.


 



Virtual High School

The Winnipeg School Division Virtual School model delivers lessons to students via an online platform that is accessed outside of the classroom. The virtual school learning environment can be synchronous where all students are online with the teacher at the same time or asynchronous where lessons are posted online, and students have access according to their learning time frame. Parent/guardian participation is encouraged to support engagement.

Eligibility:

Program Model:

  • Grades 9 to 12 English Program.
  • Direct teacher delivery of classes.
  • This model encourages parents to have an active role to ensure their child is engaged in classes.
  • Guidance support available.

School Year: 

  • Semester 1: September to February
  • Semester 2: February to June

Registration Process: 

  • Students currently registered in the Virtual School who meet the eligibility requirements will receive a pre-registration package.
