MALTI - Manitoba Adult Language Training Initiative
January 12, 2026
The Manitoba Adult Language Training Initiative (M.A.L.T.I.) is a partnership between the Winnipeg School Division and the Province of Manitoba's Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation, Workforce Development and Training Division that supports adult learners who achieve Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) levels of 5–8. The program strengthens English language proficiency while supporting learners’ pathways to employment and post-secondary education. M.A.L.T.I. provides in-class English language instruction that helps students build the skills and confidence needed to successfully transition into the workforce or further education. The program also offers career development support such as résumé and cover letter writing, mock interviews, and access to micro-credential training opportunities. Through WAEC and this initiative, learners have access to academic upgrading and support services that help them obtain a mature student high school diploma and other certifications, improving their opportunities to overcome employment barriers. | ![]() |
