Home Package, Virtual School, Homeschooling, Remote Learning. What is the difference?.pdf

October 2020

Currently, every classroom at Faraday School is set up for in-person learning according to the guidelines provided to Manitoba schools by Public Health.  We have made the necessary changes to ensure that our students are able to maintain a distance of 2 metres apart from others while learning and working in the classroom.  A big thank you goes out to our wonderful families for helping us keep your children safe by ensuring that they wear masks at school and also understand the need to wash/sanitize their hands often.  By working together, our hope is that we can continue teaching your children in the classroom.

In the event that our school needs to switch to a remote learning format under orders from Public Health, our main platform for learning will be Seesaw.  Many classrooms are already familiar with this program.

Google Meet and Google Classroom are other platforms that teachers may use to connect with their students, in particular the younger children that are not yet reading and able to complete online assignments independently.

Your child's teacher will contact you if our school situation changes.  Please ensure that your email address and phone numbers are up to date.

For additional online learning ideas at home, please look under the Student Resources tab, as well as the teachers' pages under the Academics & Classes tab.
