EAL Cafe is held one evening a month for parents who are new to Canada. EAL cafe is meant for newcomer parents to connect with EAL teachers and intercultural support workers to discuss topics related to their experiences living in Canada. It is a time to share and ask questions in a relaxed and comfortable environment with snacks and drinks.
Since September, EAL cafe sessions have been related to discussing school in Canada and how it compares to schooling back home. Last week's EAL Cafe was a fun evening for families to decorate gingerbread houses! Over the next few months, topics will include parenting in Canada, drug and gang awareness and other topics that parents want to know more about.
