Manitoba Games Update - A Silver Medal! Congrats Joseph!

February 4, 2021

Joseph from Grade 6 at Grosvenor school, qualified this winter to be on one of two cross-country ski teams that Winnipeg is sending to the Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games.
The Games are March 2-8, and will be held in the Winkler-Stanley-Morden area. They are for youth aged 10 to 18, and feature a number of outdoor and indoor sports.  The Power Smart Manitoba Games are administered by Sport Manitoba, and follow the Olympic cycle, taking place every two years, alternating between summer and winter events.
The cross-country ski teams will participate in three different race dates, including classic ski, freestyle ski and relays. The teams will participate in the Opening Ceremonies of the Games, which will host teams from seven different regions of Manitoba.
Joseph has been skiing with the Red River Nordic Ski Club of Winnipeg since he was only three years old. He is an avid skier, skater and snowboarder and has recently begun learning the new sport of snow-skate.
Congratulations Joseph!

A Manitoba Games Update!
Joseph's team just won the silver medal in the boys' relay at the Manitoba Winter Games. Joseph was the anchor (final) skate skier. The race featured a major lengthy uphill and took place in gruelling wind this morning at Minnewasta Golf Club in Morden.
