Indigenous Student Group

On April 27, 2018, members of Kelvin High School’s Indigenous Student Group had the pleasure of meeting and hearing from Nahanni Fontaine and Bernadette Smith, Members of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba.

Ms. Fontaine (MLA St. Johns) and Ms. Smith (MLA Point Douglas) spoke of their personal journeys and how they became MLA’s.  They also spoke of the power and role of Indigenous women and girls in our communities.  Discussions focused on community support, families, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, as well as the power of education.
