Thank you for your support!

Aileen Hunt & Vive le Vert Committee, École LaVérendrye

2021 - 2022 school year

June 30, 2022:

Club Éco-Vert would like to thank everyone for your tremendous support this year. To all of those who helped with watering, gardening, clean up events, moving soil, supporting our fundraising efforts, etc:

We'd like to say a big thank you to you all. Our final fundraiser of the year, the plant sale at the carnival raised $318.90. This money will go back towards the club this coming school year.

Just a reminder that we are still looking for volunteers to come water the gardens for one week over the summer. If you are interested in learning more about this, please message Mme Gallant at cgallant@wsd1.org

April 7, 2022:

The deadline for online ordering is 11:59 p.m. on April 15. Orders can be placed at https://www.glenleagreenhouses.com/collections/fundraiser-2022-home-page

Don't know what to order? How about getting yourself a gift card? You can take more time to plan your garden and visit Glenlea at their greenhouse or pop-up locations throughout the spring and summer to make your purchases (Gift Cards cannot be used to pay for online orders).

March 11, 2022:

It's that time of year again - our Annual Plant Sale Fundraiser. Between now and April 15th, you can order your spring plants through Glenlea Greenhouse at https://www.glenleagreenhouses.com/collections/fundraiser-2022-home-page. When you go through the checkout, they will ask which fundraiser group you're supporting - our name is École LaVérendrye Community Council. Proceeds of our commission on sales go to further environmental education for students, including upkeep for the school gardens. It's hard to know what May will look like, but if contactless delivery is warranted due to CoVid, we will do so again.

Plants will be delivered/available for pick-up on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

If you have any questions, email us at lavvivelevert@gmail.com

2018 - 2019 school year

We had an active Vive le Vert committee again this year.  This year, thanks again to a dedicated group of families, our school gardens and outdoor classroom are blooming.

Come and see the amazing Three Sisters Garden located on the south side of the school near the new junior play structure.  These gardens were planted by our Grade 2-3 students on the Vive le Vert club in the spring of 2017.

Our school garden started in 2002 with the purpose of creating an outdoor classroom where students can learn about plants and our environment, as well as relax and play among the plants.

Each classroom has a flower box to plant and cultivate various flowers and plants.  Themes are set-up every year and the plants are chosen by the classes.
