School Registration Information

École Robert H. Smith School live-streamed its Open House on January 27, 2021. The information session reviewed school features and programs, registration procedures for nursery school (or any other grade), and policies for school of choice.

École Robert H. Smith School is now accepting student registrations for the 2021/2022 school year.
Please fill out the Student Application for Registration form, print and sign and then email it directly to the school at rhsmith@wsd1.org (you will receive a confirmation email from the school once the registration is received) with the required documentation (listed below).
All applications will only be accepted with all documentation required, please attach to the email with the registration form, the child's birth certificate, Manitoba medical card and proof of residency (property tax bill) and a copy of the most recent report card for children that have attended at another school or Montessori (if you received a report card).
If you are unable to print or scan the form, please call the school at 204-488-1137 for assitance. The school is checking emails on a daily basis.
Registration for 2021/2022
Nursery
We are now accepting registrations for Nursery. Students registering to begin Nursery in September of 2021 must be four years of age by December 31, 2021. A Birth Certificate, Manitoba Medical Card and Proof of Residency (a Property Tax Bill) must be presented at the time of registration.
Nursery is considered part of the English track program and, therefore, priority will be given to those within the English catchment area. Those students outside the catchment area will be placed on a waiting list.
Kindergarten
Parents of students who are presently attending the École Robert H. Smith School Nursery Program and who wish to enroll their child in one of the École Robert H. Smith School Kindergarten programs for the fall do NOT need to fill out a registration there was information that was sent home to you at the start of January that required you to respond with your requests for Kindergarten.
For new families, or if you kept your child home because for health reasons this year, we are now accepting registrations for English and French Immersion Kindergarten classes. Students registering to begin Kindergarten in September of 2021 must be five years of age by December 31, 2021. A Birth Certificate, Manitoba Medical Card and Proof of Residency (a Property Tax Bill) and the most recent copy of a report card (if the child was attending school previously) must be presented at the time of registration.
Please keep in mind that there are two separate yet overlapping catchment areas for French Immersion and English Kindergarten. If you want to check your catchment area, use the Find a School App. Priority will be given to those within the catchment area and others will be placed on a waiting list.
Grades 1-6
We are now accepting registrations for Grades 1-6. A Birth Certificate, Manitoba Medical Card and Proof of Residency (a Property Tax Bill) and most recent copy of a report card must be presented at the time of registration.
Non-Resident Students:
Please contact the school directly as Schools of Choice guidelines apply as per the Winnipeg School Division Policy JEC - School Admissions/Schools of Choice. Acceptance is based on numerous factors including program and grade request, space availability and class size.
