School Closures because of the Weather

Sometimes severe weather means schools may need to close for the day, or students may need to go home early. If that happens, the Chief Superintendent and the Board Chair will make the decision together.

The announcement will be shared on these radio stations:

CBC (990 AM & 89.3 FM) 

CKY (580 AM) 

CJOB (680 AM) 

CFRW (1290 AM) 

CKMM (Hot 103 - 103 FM) 

CFQX (104.1 FM) 

CITI (92.1 FM) 

CFWM (Bob FM - 99.9 FM)

Please listen carefully to the radio announcements so you know what’s happening.

If students need to go home early during the day, the school will phone student contacts to let you know. Please make sure the school has your most current contact information by emailing the school at shaughnessypk@wsd1.org. 

There are also times when buses may be cancelled, but schools will still stay open.
