History of Shaughnessy Park School
August 20, 2025
The history of the Shaughnessy Park School building describes how it expanded to meet the needs of the community and families in the neighbourhood.
The school first opened its doors to the community in 1950. As the student population grew, there was a need for a second phase addition, which was completed in 1963. One more addition was made in 1975, which included the Daycare. When the population increased again, another wing was built to serve students in Grades 7 and 8 in 1987. These three additions have expanded into a large campus known as Shaughnessy Park School, home of the Shaughnessy Park Timberwolves.
