Hockey HEROS

The intent of the Hockey HEROS program is to develop and promote the game of hockey in an area of the city once rich in hockey tradition, that because of the economics of hockey, has lost some of its splendour.

The program will also develop healthy, community active and aware young citizens with a sense of discipline and self-motivation in a “team-like” environment.

The premise of HEROS (Hockey Education Reaching Out Society) is to use the game of hockey as a catalyst to attract youth to a program offering support for education, self-esteem building, and life skills training. 

The program focuses on boys and girls of diverse ethnicity from economically challenged neighbourhoods. The program will be conducted in an environment of fun and safety. The four rules of hockey HEROS are: listening, respect, discipline and fun.
