Our History

Located in the heart of the North End, Children of the Earth was born out of Indigenous grassroots activism in the early 1990s because parents and the larger community wanted an Indigenous high school where Indigenous culture and language could be learned and practiced freely. Today we carry on that tradition centring on culture, language, learning our true history, and developing identity as Indigenous people. Smudge, ceremony, land and sky guide our work.
