Return to the Big Stage!

After three years, Gordon Bell returns to 2022’s Canadian National Dance Championships, which took place at the RBC Center from April 21-24.

We have worked twice as hard to prepare something for this performance, and with the majority of our Urban Fusion dancers graduating, we knew it had to be special. For our senior group, Urban Fusion, we prepared a street jazz piece for a Lady Gaga mega mashup. We pulled out our sassiest faces and sparkliest costumes and gave it our all. We won 1st place in our category with gold!

Our junior group, Junior Fusion, got their party on with a piece called “Vibe on it.” They also came home with a 1st place high silver! We couldn’t be more proud of them, especially since many of them have no experience with dance or performing. We appreciate their dedication and determination.  

Ladies’ Small Group brought in a creepy atmosphere with a cover of “Tainted Love.” The four ladies worked together and won Gordon Bell’s first-ever high gold award, winning 1st place in our category!

We also had our first solo piece called “Breathe” by 12th grader Damien! We welcomed him to our school this year and supported him throughout the process of choreographing his own piece and winning 3rd place in his category with a high silver!

Gordon Bell’s return to the big stage was a success this year, and we farewell our seniors and wish them good luck on their future dance journeys.
