Kelvin's Ultimate Frisbee Team "Holds Back the Snow" -- and takes hold of their third major championship in a year!

February 8, 2021

Kelvin's Ultimate (A-level) Frisbee Team recently won the Hold Back the Snow Tournament in a thrilling match in sub-zero temperatures at Grant Park field.  The victory was especially sweet, since Kelvin had narrowly relinquished the championship a year ago against the same team -- Hopkins High School -- from Minneapolis, Minnesota.  The sport of Ultimate is unique in that  co-ed teams are mandatory and there are no referees; players make their own calls and resolve their own disputes in the spirit of fair play.  What is more impressive: every match ends with both teams sitting in a large circle and presenting opposing players with awards for Most Valuable Player and for Spirit.  Hats off to the coaches and players who performed brilliantly in the wind and the rain, and, yes, the SNOW, to take home the trophy.  Kelvin's Ultimate Team are the current Provincial Champions and were crowned National Champions at a tournament in Vancouver last Spring.  Bravo, Ultimate Players!
