Characters of Gold

February 8, 2021

The 22nd Annual Skills Manitoba Competition was held at Red River College and Tec Voc High School on April 11, 2019.

Students participated in challenges designed to test skills required in trades and technology careers. The philosophy of the Skills Competition is to reward students for excellence, directly involve industry in evaluating student performance, and keep training programs relevant to employers’ needs. Over 475 high school, post secondary and apprentice students compete in 42 skilled trades and technology contests in six industry sectors.

This year a team from Kelvin, Cameron Cottee and Seika Dyck, competed in the 3D Character Animation competition and were awarded a gold medal. They have earned the right to represent Manitoba at the Skills Canada National Competition in Halifax in May.
