Mathematics

Melani Decelles

I have been teaching IB mathematics at Kelvin High School since 1998. Thinking back to my high school years, I know that having the good math teacher that I did instilled the love of mathematics in me. I received both my science (mathematics major) and teaching degrees at the University of Manitoba by the age of 22. I began teaching high school mathematics directly after University. I have been fortunate to have worked with students in various grade levels and in a variety of mathematics courses. I have enjoyed all of them.
Along with teaching IB mathematics, I became the IB Coordinator at Kelvin High School in 2008. This new challenge has been very rewarding. I am able to help the students navigate their way through the IB programme and enjoy seeing the growth in each of them.
I enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds - biking, hiking, jogging, walking and sitting by a fire. These activities are even better when they are enjoyed on a holiday. Travelling to new places, seeing and trying new things make the best adventure.

Sheri Temple

My name is Sheri Temple and I have been teaching math since 2001; my experience spans from grades 7 through 12. Born in Dauphin, Manitoba, I moved to Winnipeg when I was 17 years old to attend university. I earned my Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba and have an After Degree in Education from Brandon University. Aside from teaching, I enjoy numerous activities like jogging, practicing yoga, mountain biking, camping and reading. All of these activities are even more fun when I get to do them with my husband, Mike, and our two daughters, Ashlyn and Maren. I look forward to a great year!
