Recess Helpers

Since September 28th, our Recess Helpers have been on duty during a.m. and p.m. recess. This group of 42 dedicated individuals were trained in conflict mediation, and they also learned various games to play with students during recess.   

The goals of the Recess Helpers Project are to:

• Help kids solve conflict
• Help kids who are feeling left out feel more connected
• Prevent disagreements and fights by helping kids play together and follow rules

As the year progresses, the Recess Helpers will add to their repertoire of games which they in turn can teach the younger students at Lord Nelson. It is our hope that with more appropriate games to play, all students of Lord Nelson will have great recess experiences.
