English Program N-6

​​​École J.B. Mitchell School offers a Nursery–Grade 6 English program.   There are many different activities planned for students at all different grade levels.  The English program follows the curricular outcomes in all subject areas as outlined by Manitoba Education and Training.

English Program students in grades 1-6 participate in the Basic French program. Students start out learning the basics such as saying the alphabet in French, numbers, days of the week, months of the year etc.  This is done through singing, speaking and writing as well as playing games. 

Gradually French knowledge and vocabulary is expanded through more reading, writing speaking and singing with more of a focus on grammar. 

Students also learn about French culture and music through events like Festival du Voyageur and French week.
