Superlative staff

Winnipeg School Division staff, administration and trustees gathered to mark long service and retirement milestones.
The annual Long Serice and Retirement Reception, which was held at the Canad Inns - Polo Park on June 5, saw five employees reach the 40 year mark. One hundred staff members celebrated 25 years with WSD, while 145 retired.
"Whether as a teacher, administrator, clerk, educational assistant, custodian, clinician or member of the building department, you all have contributed to the excellent reputation that the Winnipeg School Division has earned over the past 144 years. The Winnipeg School Division has benefitted from your hard work and dedication. We sincerely thank you for your excellent service. Congratulations on your success," said Board Chair Mark Wasyliw.
The Kelvin High School Jazz Band, booked weeks prior to the tragic events at the school on June 2, attended the event to perform for an appreciative audience.
