Patrols

Queenston School currently has patrols that patrol four times a day. There are four patrol crews that operate on a rotational basis patrolling the intersections of Kingsway and Queenston, as well as Kingsway and Brock.
This mandatory school program gives grade 5 and grade 6 students an opportunity to not only be apart of a school team that helps students get to and from school safely, it also allows children to be put into a leadership role.
In order to become a patrol students are required to obtain parental permission, watch a training video, observe current patrols at work and pass a test.
Queenston School takes great pride in their patrol program winning first place in 2015/2016 and third place in 2009/2010, 2010/2011 and 2018/2019.
The Winnipeg School Division uses the temperature at the Forks (Environment Canada) to determine the temperature and the windchill.
