About Us

September 22, 2023

Rockwood is a multi-age school.  Our classes are organized into teams of grades N/K, 1/2, 3/4 , 4/5 and 5/6.  Students will often stay with the same teacher for two years.

Rockwood School offers excellence in education with secure, comfortable, child-centered learning.  Programming is challenging, interactive and promotes self-reliance and independence. Our dynamic staff is committed to creating an educational community with students and their families.

Rockwood School has classes from Nursery to Grade 6 in a close-knit, small-school setting.  It has a stable population of approximately 130 students.  Rockwood School values a solid foundation in literacy and numeracy, the integration of the arts, interactive hands–on learning and technology.

Rockwood has an active parent council that is very supportive and runs the school's lunch program.

Rockwood School is committed to education for sustainable development, focusing our efforts on environmental and social responsibility.

Valuing Diversity and Inclusion

Rockwood School is a place for everyone.  Multiculturalism enriches our school; we value learning from each other and about each other. The Rockwood School community also believes in the inclusion of all students and we do our best to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for all. Through inclusion in the multi-age classrooms we strive to teach our students about equality, respect, and dignity for everyone.
