Read to Me

Read to Me is a reading framework that focuses on teaching beginning literacy skills, such as phonological awareness, alphabetic principle, vocabulary, fluency, decoding, encoding, and comprehension in our primary grades. 

The framework is designed to meet the literacy needs of each student as well as develop a positive reading identity and a joy of reading. Our reading clinician, who specializes in reading/writing strategies and interventions, collaborates with King Edward classroom teachers, support staff, as well as educational assistants to develop appropriate programming for individual student literacy goals. The aims of the framework are to teach students the skills necessary to be literate members of society, as well as foster a deep love of reading.
