Comprehensive Assessment Program

The Winnipeg School Division has a Comprehensive Assessment Program which is administered to all students from nursery to grade 6 at the beginning of the school year in the areas of language arts, math, basic movements skills and social emotional behaviour. Also the CAP assessment in the area of French as part of CAP is administered to grades 1,2,3,5 and 6 French Immersion students. All grade 3 students are assessed in specific areas in math. The results are sent to Manitoba Education. Grade 4 French Immersion students are administered a Français reading test by Manitoba Education Citizenship and Youth. The results of these assessments are shared in writing with parents. This assessment identifies the students’ strengths and weaknesses and facilitates early intervention and programming.​
