Welcome to Room 103!

We are so glad you’re here!!

Hi, my name is Ms. Sigurdson and I’m so excited to be a part of your child’s learning journey this year! 

Our Program offers opportunities to explore and discover through play. We will learn new routines of our class and develop skills such as: lining up, raising hands to share ideas, sitting on the carpet, turn taking, social skills, fine motor (pencil grip and cutting). We learn Responsible behaviours such as cleaning up after ourselves, caring for all items, and how to be a good friend. We learn through plan and hands on activities that promote independence and a love for learning. We also encourage lots of social interactions between students and staff!

In Literacy we develop: language, Phonological Awareness, Alphabet knowledge, Print Awareness, and Early writing/reading

In Math we focus on developing a strong number sense, patterns, counting, sorting, and shapes.

Through the Seesaw app, you as the parent/guardian will have an opportunity to view our class through our eyes, and be apart of your child’s learning along the way!

Communication is very important to me, and I hope that we can all build a strong relationship together. Please do not hesitate to ask me anything or share your concerns throughout the year.
