Athletics & Extra-Curricular

The Staff at APC believe in enriching curriculum through hosting events such as Book Mates, Women In Science & Engineering, Career Trek - "The M-Power Program", Healthy Baby and Family Support Nights.  In addition, we celebrate the diversity of students by embracing important issues such as Orange Shirt Day, Anti-Bullying Days and Black History Month.

We believe that eating together builds community.  Besides daily breakfast and lunches, students have also taken part in a Fall Feast, Cake Baking Contest, Christmas Dinner, Crock Pot Challenge and Gingerbread House Decorating.

The school calendar is enhanced with September's Welcome BBQ, Halloween Parade, Remembrance Day Ceremony, Pictures with Santa Claus, I Love To Read Month in February, and Spring Fieldtrips that have included Assiniboine Park Zoo, Boonstra Farms, Women's Healing Lodge and Grand Beach (learning on the land).

Consistent attendance is necessary for, not only the academic progress of the young parents, but also for the healthy development and attachment of the babies to the childcare staff in our various centers.  Various incentives are awarded that recognize and encourage/support students to come to school as much as they can.  This includes rummage sales, draws and weekly attendance prizes.
