Patrols Information

School Patrols

The LaVérendrye School Patrols consist of a team of Grade 5 and 6 students.  Our Patrol supervisors this year are Mme Sylvie and Mme Bailey.

Our Patrols assist our students and families to cross 3 intersections around our school.  The intersections are Lilac and Warsaw, Lilac and Jessie, and Wentworth and Warsaw.

Patrols are on duty from 8:15-8:30 a.m. 11:25-11:40 a.m., 12:25-12:40 a.m. and 2:55-3:10 p.m. During the winter months, patrols continue to be assigned to their regular posts if the weather (including wind chill) reaches -17 to -26 C.  Once the temperature reaches -27 to -33 C, one patrol will be assigned to a crossing area and will switch with another patrol every 7 minutes.  No patrols are on duty with a temperature of -34 or below.

When the weather is -34 or below, patrols may be reassigned to indoor duties.

Constable Mitch Rochon has recommended we use traffic cones to allow motorists to see our Patrols and allow them to cross students safely.
