Volunteers Inspire Greatness
March 25, 2021
Clifton students and staff honoured our volunteers for their hard work and dedication on Friday, May 23rd at our Volunteer Appreciation Assembly and Reception. The words of our MCs, Annie and Kyla expressed our deepest gratitude for all that our volunteers do.
"Special describes people who act from the heart and keep in mind the hearts of others. Special is someone who inspires others. Special is a word that best describes Clifton School Volunteers."
Our volunteers help teachers prepare materials, work with the younger students on fine motor activities, do the hearing screening, plant and harvest vegetables for our Market Garden, donate beautiful handcrafted quilts, fund raise for equipment, organize special lunches and our June barbeque, work on the Parent Council, work in the lunch program and help out on field trips.
Under the direction of Mrs. Bodner, our volunteers were entertained by the Advanced Bells who performed the song, Wind Beneath My Wings. The Primary Choir sang Ode to Volunteers, to the tune of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, written by Mrs. Bodner and accompanied by students on tone chimes.
The grade 4 students in Mrs. Reis' class wrote a performed We Just Want to Thank You for the volunteers. Follow the link to hear their song sung to the tune of Bruno Mars' The Lazy Song.
