OCN Land-based Education 2022

Raising the tipi

The staff and students of Gordon Bell High School are guided by three universal values:  unconditional generosity, kinship and reconciliation. It is with these pillars that motivated the school to reach out to Oscar Lathlin Collegiate to participate on a land-based learning to coincide with Opaskwayak Cree Nation's Joe A. Ross Culture Days. It was a timely and ironic endeavour to end the two and half year long Covid-19 isolation whereby the two schools has now established a bridge to share Indigenous knowledge, tradition, history, language, and ceremonies.

This short film tries to document a very small portion of the incredible experiences our students and staff were generously gifted.
