Grant Park's Budding Scientists

Grant Park students proved once again that they are top-notch young scientists.  At the awards ceremony for the Winnipeg School Division Science Fair that took place at the Brodie Center on Saturday, April 20, many students won prizes.  Two were selected to represent the WSD in the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Lethbridge, Alberta from May 11-18.

The two students who will continue on to the Canada-Wide Science Fair are:


Amanda Wong, for her project "Can the Big Five Personality Factors Predict Belbin's Team Roles?". She won Gold, was most outstanding at the Intermediate level, and was selected for the 3rd time to represent WSD in the Canada Wide Science Fair.

Mackenzie Wong, for his project "Milligram Balance".  He won gold, best in category, he was most outstanding overall at the Junior level and was selected to represent WSD in the Canada Wide Science Fair.

 

The following students also won awards:

Josh Levesque, for his project "Pre-washed and Triple-washed Packaged Product - Is it Clean?".  He won Gold and the Manitoba Health Research Council Award.

The following Middle School students won Gold:

  • Emma Pimlott & Leah Hicks (best in category)
  • Laia Shpeller (best in category)
  • Jack Osiowy

 

The following Middle School student won Silver:

  • Eva Rodrigues

 

The following High School students won Gold:

  • Alice Phung & Shawn Ramos
  • Shayna Shpeller and Jane Petroff
  • Matthew Schneider, Jack Ackman & Omid Moterassad
  • Halley Ritter & Maureen Cooper

 

The following High School students won Silver:

  • Sophia Wicher
  • Ben Boswick & Grace Gao
  • Alina Toidjanov & Emily Addison
  • Moriah Wong & Ava Nykiforuk
