Principal's Message

Welcome to the Keewatin Prairie School Website. Ms. Perrun, our Vice-Principal and I are honoured to be here and work with your amazing children and our hard working, dedicated educators. This is our second year at Keewatin Prairie and we are excited to continue the positive learning as well get to know our community better.

Our staff work hard to make Keewatin Prairie a great learning place. Our focus on improving literacy, numeracy and assessment practices takes a collaborative and interdependent school community, which we have. Our beliefs in teaching students to be critical thinkers with a global perspective; to be sensitive to the needs of others and to respect the environment are foundational to providing excellence in academic programming where healthy social emotional and physical skills are prioritized. Goals this year include strengthening cooperative learning and increasing student talk/thinking about their learning (areas that were hit hard by the pandemic). Please speak with your teacher(s), Ms. Perrun or myself if you have any questions.       

We are fortunate to have a Community Room run by our Community Support Worker, Ms. McNabb. The Community Room is open every afternoon from 1:00-3:30 pm. There are always some great activities happening there. If you would like to volunteer at Keewatin Prairie, this is your go-to place.

We hope that you find everything that you need on our website but if not, let us know. We do appreciate hearing from you and your feedback is important to us. We are continually updating and sharing here, so please check back regularly.
