Special Education

February 4, 2021

École Victoria-Albert School offers Special Education programming for students with Special Needs.

We offer:

Integrated Special Education programming which meets the special educational needs of students in a regular classroom setting.  The classroom teacher and Special Education Teacher work closely with families and students to provide individualized programming and services as needed. Families and students are involved in developing and reviewing the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) on a regular basis.

A Learning Assistance Centre (LAC) for students who are in Grades 4-6 and who have severe emotional or behavioural disorders. Some of these students exhibit behaviour that requires intensive support and intervention. The major goal of the programs is to help the students develop the social, self-management, self-control and problem-solving skills that are necessary to re-integrate into the regular classroom and community. Some of the students may also have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
