School Registration Information

Winnipeg School Division will be accepting conditional student applications for the 2023/2024 school year. This will only apply to resident students new to WSD or transferring to another school within division.  

Please fill out the Student Application for Registration form, print and sign and then email them directly to the school.

All applications for resident students will only be accepted conditionally until all documentation confirming the information below has been received.

If you are unable to print or scan the forms, please contact the school via email at or by phone at 204-774-5401. Schools are checking emails and voice messages on a daily basis.  

Students new to WSD or transferring within WSD:

  • Student's legal full name
  • Date of birth
  • Sex (as indicated on birth certificate or equivalent documentation)
  • Citizenship (Immigration documentation will be required)
  • Current school attended
  • Grade
  • Current address
  • Primary phone number
  • Email address
  • Name of legal guardian and relationship to student
  • Does student live with guardian(s) as identified (custody orders are required)

Non-Resident Students:

Please contact the school directly as Schools of Choice guidelines apply as per the Winnipeg School Division Policy JEC - School Admissions/Schools of Choice. Acceptance is based on numerous factors including program and grade request, space availability and class size. 

Non-resident students must fill out a Non-Resident Student Application Form AND a Student Application for Registration Form.

Gordon Bell Online Pre-registration 2023 - 2024: Information, Instructions and Important Documents

The grade 8 pre-registrations (grade 7 going to grade 8) will occur in the week of February 7-10, 2023.

Students will be pre-registering online on the WSD portal for option classes only. There will be a short write up of the options classes to choose from. We will be printing the option form for parents/guardians to sign. To ensure the students have their option classes honoured.

The due date for grade 7 students going into grade 8 to return their form is February 15, 2023.

Grade 9 to 12 Preregistrations will begin with a grade level assembly on February 21, 2023.

-grade 8 students going to grade 9

-grade 9 students going to grade 10

-grade 10 going into grade 11

-grade 11 going to grade 12 and for non-graduating returning grade 12 students

The purpose of the assemblies will be to discuss courses available at Gordon Bell.  Students will be given a Course Pre-Selection Planning Sheet.  Students are encouraged to speak with their teachers and parent(s) / guardian(s) and refer to the following documents on the school’s website to assist in course selection:

For students entering Grades 7-9:

Important Information for All current Students

  • Students are encouraged to speak with their teachers as well as parent(s) / guardian(s) and refer to the support documents below to assist in course selection.

  • Students will be called to pre-register for the 2023 – 2024 school year between Tuesday, February 28th and Friday, March 3rd in the computer lab.

  • Upon completion of pre-registration on the computer, all students will be given a printed copy of their registration package that needs to be signed and dated on every page by the parent/guardian or 18+ student.

  • Please be sure to go over the address and contact info and make any changes with a pen prior to returning the pre-registration package.

  • The signed pre-registration package must be returned to the main office no later than Friday, March 10th.

  • Please note that a student is not officially registered until this signed paperwork is received.
