Career Development Internship (CDI)

June 28, 2022

CDI offers students the opportunity to participate in an unpaid internship placement in a career of interest, all while earning high school credits. Internship credits integrate career development theory, knowledge, essential skills, employability skills and attitudes with meaningful learning experiences in an internship setting. The knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired through internships can increase students' competence and confidence and provide more awareness of the expectations of a profession and the employment opportunities that exist in their community, as well as the educational and training requirements for these opportunities.

Prerequisites:

  • Enrolled in Grade 11 or 12, or Adult Learner
  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Completion of the Youth Worker Readiness Certificate Course
  • Must have completed WE1 - Parent/Guardian Approval Form and WE2 - Student Letter of Understanding
