On December 7, 2024, a talented group of Grade 12 Photography students from Tec Voc High School had the unique honour of running the Santa Photo Booth at the Manitoba Legislative Building’s Annual Holiday Open House. The students were given the opportunity to showcase their photography skills while providing visitors with a memorable holiday experience.
As part of the Legislative Building's highly anticipated holiday celebration, the Tec Voc students expertly captured festive moments, creating beautiful photos for families visiting Santa Claus. Their involvement in this community event allowed them to gain hands-on experience in event photography, customer service, and professional photography techniques—all while contributing to a cherished tradition in the heart of Winnipeg.

"The students did an amazing job, not only behind the lens but also interacting with the public and ensuring families had an enjoyable and memorable experience," said Jeremy Dueck, the photography teacher at Tec Voc. "This opportunity gave them real-world experience and allowed them to contribute to an event that brings so much joy to the community during the holidays."
The Tec Voc Photography students worked closely with event organizers to set up the photo booth, manage the crowds, and capture the perfect holiday memories. Their dedication and professionalism were evident throughout the event, and the students received rave reviews from attendees for their friendly service and the high quality of their photos.

The Legislative Building Holiday Open House is an annual event that welcomes families to experience the festive décor and warmth of the historic building. This year’s event was made even more special by the Tec Voc students’ involvement, which demonstrated the invaluable intersection of education, community engagement, and the holiday spirit.
