A good sign
February 8, 2021
Robertson School unveiled a new digital sign to close out the school year.
The new sign will keep parents, students and community members in the loop on school events and projects, important dates and handy info like the time, date and weather.
“All the information that our parents are interested in and want to know more about, we’re going to have on our sign,” said Principal Tony Marchione.
In attendance for the June 26 unveiling were city councillor Mike Pagtakhan, WSD Board Chair Sheri Rollins and Trustee Arlene Reid. They joined students and staff for the special unveiling by the Robertson custodial staff.
The sign was purchased through the fundraising efforts of students, staff, parent council and the on-site daycare at Robertson, along with a City of Winnipeg grant.
“We were able to work in partnership with many groups,” Mr. Marchione said. “We do fundraisers all year…we use the money for things like books and computers, and once in a while, we put some aside for the sign. Everyone had a part in this.”
