ESD milestones

February 8, 2021

Three WSD elementary schools have received new Eco-Globe designations from the Manitoba Government.

The designation provides schools with three different levels of recognition: Awareness, Action and Transformation. The province created the program to recognize and acknowledge the many Education for Sustainable Development activities taking place in schools.

École Laura Secord School was awarded the Action and Awareness Designations, while École Robert H. Smith School was recognized with an Action level designation.

Finally, Luxton School—which had previously received Awareness and Action Level designations, was honoured with a third-stage Transformation designation.

The schools received certificates and window display stickers to recognize their ESD status, as well as a letter of congratulations from Minister of Education and Training Ian Wishart.
