Bed Bugs Fact Sheet

Bed bug infestations have become more common in Winnipeg, and the insects may find their way into schools. Normal daily cleaning and sanitation in schools, along with inspection and monitoring, can help prevent an infestation. While it is very unlikely that a school would become infested, Winnipeg School Division has an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plan in place in case of bed bug sightings.

Identification, treatment and prevention
Winnipeg School Division follows the Province of Manitoba and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority guidelines for what to do when bed bugs are spotted in schools, and how to keep them out. The following document provides more information about bed bugs:
